Birmingham Flag (Alabama)
The flag of Birmingham, Alabama was designed in 1921 by Idyl King Sorsby in celebration of the city's semicentennial. It was adopted on August 18, 1925. It features three vertical bands of red, white (larger than the other two), and red. A single five-pointed red star is depicted in the center of the flag. This star is surrounded by a ring of smaller stars and rays. The city's seal is depicted in the center of the flag[1].
