Armenia Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Armenia, or Armenian Coat of Arms, was on April 19, 1992. It features an eagle and lion (ancient Armenian symbols predating the Chrisian Armenian Kingdoms) supporting a shield. The shield is divided into five sections. The center portion depicts Mount Ararat with Noah's Ark sitting atop it. The lower left portion of the shield depicts two eagles, representing the Artaxiad Dynasty, which ruled in the first century BC. The lower left portion of the shield depicts a lion and a cross, symbols of the Bagratuni Dynasty, which ruled during the Middle Ages. The upper right portion depicts a two-headed eagle, which is representative of the first Christian dynasty to rule Armenia. Lastly, the lion and the cross depicted in the lower left corner represents the Rubenid dynasty, which ruled in the Armenian Kingdom of Cilicia during the 12th and 13th centuries AD. Below the shield, five other elements are depicted. The sword represents power and strength. The broken chain represents the struggle for freedom. The wheat represents the work ethic of the Armenian people. The feather represents the cultural and intellectual heritage of the people. The ribbon represents the flag of Armenia[1].

  Armenia Flag
The flag of Armenia was adopted on August 24, 1990. It is known as the Armenian Tricolour, as it consists of three horizonal bands of equal width. The colors are red, blue, and orange, which some interpret as representing blood, sky, and fertile land, respectively. However, the Armenian Constitution states that "Red symbolizes the Armenian Highland, the Armenian people's continued struggle for survival, maintenance of the Christian faith, Armenia's independence and freedom. Blue symbolizes the will of the people of Armenia to live beneath peaceful skies. Orange symbolizes the creative talent and hard-working nature of the people of Armenia"[2].
