Bogota Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Bogota, Colombia came into use on December 3, 1548 when it was granted by Spanish Emperor Charles I to the New Kingdom of Granada. However, the city of Bogota did not officially adopt the coat of arms until 1932. The shield features a black phoenix on a yellow background bordered in blue. The phoenix holds a pomegranate, which is a symbol of the nation. The blue border is defaced with nine golden pomegranates to stand for the states that constituted the New Kingdom of Granada[1].
