Chicago Flag
The flag of Chicago is set on a white background and features two light blue horizontal stripes, within which four six-pointed red stars are depicted. The flag was designed by Wallace Rice and adopted on April 4, 1917, after the winner was chosen from a contest that had over a thousand entrants. The three white sections of the flag represent the North, West and South sides of the city. The two blue sections represent Lake Michigan and the Chicago River. The stars represent Fort Dearborn, the Great Chicago Fire, the World's Columbian Exposition, and the Century of Progress Exposition[1].
