Cleveland Flag
The flag of Cleveland was designed by Susan Hepburn, a high school student, and was adopted on February 26, 1896. It is a vertical tricolour of red, white, and blue. In the center white stripe, an American shield with the word "Cleveland" across in its center, and the year 1796 in red, at its base, surrounded by a laurel wreath, is depicted. The city's motto, "Progress and Prosperity", was not added to the flag until the 1960's[1].
