Edmonton Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Edmonton, Canada was granted to the city on October 28, 1994. Its shield features a sun, a winged wheel (representing the city's importance as an aviation center), a wavy ribbon of white and blue (for the North Saskatchewan River), and a sheaf (for agriculture). It is supported by a métis explorer (for the city's fur trading past) and Athena (representing education). A scroll below the shield features the motto "Industry - Integrity - Progress"[1].
