German Empire Coat of Arms (1889)
The coat of arms of the German Empire reintroduced the Reichsadler, the Medieval single headed eagle. This design was used from 1889 - 1918. The black eagle with red claws, tongue, and beak features the coat of arms of Prussia depicted on its breast. Over the coat of arms of Prussia is the coat of arms of the House of Hohenzollern[1].
