JP Gillis Flag (Biderman Flag)
The JP Gillis Flag, or Biderman Flag, was a Confederate flag used in California during the American Civil War. It was designed by secessionist Major J. P. Gillis and was used by him during Independence Day marches. Jack Biderman and Curtis Clark were angered by Gillis' actions and captured the flag from him. The flag itself features three horizontal bands of red, white, and red. A blue rectangle serves as the canton of the flag in which seventeen white stars are located[1].
