  Labrador Flag
The flag of Labrador, Canada is an unofficial flag that was designed by Michael S. Martin, whose intent was to give at least that part of Newfoundland an outward symbol of identity, in 1973, which was the 25th anniversary of Newfoundland’s 1949 confederation with Canada. The flag features three horizontal bars, or fesses, of white (representing snow), green (representing the nurturing land), and light blue (representing water and its important to the people). The proportions are 2:1:2. Inside of the white bar, on the hoist side of the flag, a stylized representation of a sprig of the black spruce is depicted, as the black spruce is a prominent tree in Labrador[1].
