Malaysia Flag
The flag of Malaysia, or Malaysian flag, also known as Jalur Gemilang ("Stripes of Glory") consists of a field of 14 alternating red and white horizontal stripes with a blue canton. A yellow fourteen-point star, known as a Bintang Persekutuan ("Federal Star"), and a yellow crescent are depicted within the canton. The flag was designed by Mohamed Hamzah and adopted on September 16, 1963, although a similar version was used by the Federation of Malay since 1950. The crescent is symbolic of Islam, the color yellow is the color of the royal rulers of Malay, and the blue canton represents the unity of the people[1].

  Malaysia Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Malaysia, or emblem of Malaysia, features a shield supported by two tigers, traditional Malay symbols that represent courage and strength. A yellow crescent and fourteen-pointed star are depicted atop the shield. A yellow scroll below the shield contains the national motto, written in both Malay and Jawi, meaning "Unity is Strength". It was adopted in 1948. The shield itself contains many items, which include five krises, each representing one of the nation's five former states, Johore, Terengganu, Kelantan, Kedah and Perlis. The national flower, the hibiscus, and a "Malacca" tree are also depicted[2].
