  Mali Flag
The flag of Mali is a vertical tricolour consisting of three equals bands of the Pan-African colors of green, yellow, and red. It was adopted on March 1, 1961. The previous version of the flag from 1959 contained a black human stick figure known as a kanaga, that was removed due to Islamic aniconism, a belief that, in its extreme form, holds that the human form should not be depicted[2].
