Peru Flag
The flag of Peru, known as the El Pendón Bicolor, which means "Bicolour Banner", is a vertical bicolour consisting of three equal bands of red, white, and red. The nation's coat of arms is sometimes depicted in the center of the flag. Red represents the blood shed for Peruvian independence. White represents peace and legend has it that the colors derives from a flock of flamingos that Jose San Martin saw in the sky when he landed at Paracas in 1820 to launch the invasion of Peru . It was adopted on February 25, 1825[1].

  Peru Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Peru was adopted on February 25, 1825 in a law proclaimed by Simón Bolívar. It was designed by Congressmen José Gregorio Paredes and Francisco Javier Cortés. It features a shield divided into three parts. The upper left portion depicts a vicuña on a blue field, which represents the nation's fauna. The upper right portion depicts a cinchona tree, which represents the nation's flora. The bottom portion depicts a cornucopia, with coins spilling from it, on a red field, which represents the nation's mineral resources. A national flag and standard are featured behind the shield on each side. A crown of Holm oak serves as the crest[2].
