Sami Flag
This is the Sami flag, which is the flag of the Sámi people, the indigenous nation of the Nordic countries and the Kola Peninsula of the Russian Federation. It was adopted on August 15, 1986 by the 13th Nordic Sami Conference and was designed by Astrid Bĺhl. It features a red hoist and a larger blue fly, divided by two vertical bars of green and yellow. A blue and red outline of a circle is depicted toward the hoist of the flag. The motif was influence by a poem titled "Päiven parneh" ("Sons of the Sun") by South Sámi Protestant priest Anders Fjellner (1795-1876)[1].
