Taiwan Independence Flag
This proposed flag of Taiwan, or Taiwan Independence Flag, features three horizontal bars of green, white, and green, with a red device in the center that symbolizes four hearts in harmony, and the four population groups on the island: aborigines, Hakka, Hoklo, and mainlanders. Green is symbolic of the island's natural beauty. White symbolizes the purtiy of the people. It was designed by Reverend Donald Liu, who won a design contest held in 1996 that had 187 entries[1].
