Tunisia Flag
The flag of Tunisia was designed after the Battle of Navarino on October 20, 1827 by Al-Husayn II ibn Mahmud, the Bey of Tunis. However, the flag was not adopted until 1831. It features a white disc on a red field. A red crescent and red star are depicted within the disc, which recalls the fact that Tunisia was once part of the Ottoman Empire[1].
