Vietnam Flag
The flag of Vietnam was adopted on September 5, 1945. It depicts a single five-pointed yellow star in the center of a red field, and is hence known as the "red flag with yellow star". It was originally used in 1940 against French rule in Cochinchina. It was also used in 1941 by Viet Minh, a communist organization that opposed Japanese occupation. The five points of the star represent intellectuals, peasants, workers, traders and soldiers[1].
